CEMENT TILE ROOF

RESTORATION USING

Note:   Undercoat / Primer where required, is a Sealit Multipurpose "Soak in Mix"
i.e. 50% Sealit Multipurpose & 50% Water

DIRECTIONS

  1. Usually with cement tile rooves you simply need to first clean the roof with a high pressure cleaner. (If this is the case, skip straight to direction #3). Only usually in some instances, will you need to use a strong anti-fungal agent, (such as liquid pool chlorine diluted 1:2 in water for example). Allow 1-2 days for a fungal kill.

  2. Remove the fungus with a high pressure cleaner.

  3. Examine the roof for broken tiles and cement work in need of repair. Clean and repair the area being worked with Sealit Multipurpose, then add Sealit Multipurpose to the cement mix (approximately 1:4 with water), for a stronger union at the joints.

  4. Apply one liberal coat of 'Soak in Mix', (50% Sealit Multipurpose, 50% water), generously applied in even strokes, giving total coverage to the entire roof.

  5. Allow to dry.

  6. If waterproofing is the optimum goal, apply one coat neat Sealit Multipurpose (as above). Finish.

  7. However, (instead of Step 6) - if planning on recolouring the roof, a proven formula is to mix 50% acrylic paint, with 50% neat Sealit Multipurpose and apply 2 coats.

  8. The edges of the roof should also be given care, and if necessary a neater finish can be obtained using a paintbrush.

  9. For a hard protective finish as an optional extra, a coat of neat Glaze can be applied in the same fashion as above.

APPLICATION

Best method - Low pressure airless spray or pump up garden spray. Brush for the edges.
